COURSE DESCRIPTION

Technology Integration introduces students to the principles and methods of technology integration into K-12 classrooms. It is designed to address two standards in National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers: III (Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum), and IV (Assessment & Evaluation). It provides students with opportunities to apply the principles and methods of technology integration by designing and developing real life projects and lesson plans with technology or media to support disciplinary standards.

LEARNING OUTCOMES (taken from ISTE’s standards for Basic Endorsement in Educational Computing and Technology Literacy)

By the completion of this course, the students should be able to demonstrate their abilities in the following:
  1. Develop strategies to incorporate applications software and presentation technologies into existing course curricula.
  2. Use telecommunications to access resources related to classroom management and application software.
  3. Facilitate technology-enhanced experiences that address content standards and student technology standards.
  4. Apply technology to develop student’s higher order skills and creativity.
  5. Manage student-learning activities in a technology-enhanced environment
  6. Apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine student’s appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication, and productivity.
